Rissi ASSANI is an Advisor at IIG.

A women’s rights and feminist activist, development practitioner, and trilingual project management specialist, she currently serves as the Business and Program Funding / Program Development Manager at Oxfam Ghana. Prior to this, she served as Project Management Consultant at the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF).

Ms. Assani has also consulted for the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund, the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, and the Sheroes Foundation. She has extensive experience in grant making, resource mobilization, program development and management, and capacity building. As an unapologetic feminist, she has a strong passion for promoting safe spaces for women, and a passionate advocate for education of women and girls.

A professional with many talents, Rissi is a certified translator/interpreter with 25 years’ experience. She holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School, a B.A. in Modern Languages and Translation (French/ English/ German) from the School of Translators (University of Ghana), as well as an alumna of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and the African Women’s Leadership Institute (AWLI). She is a member of the Association of Women in Development (AWID), and of the Ghana Association of Translators and Interpreters (GATI) where she serves on the vetting committee. She also is a Rotarian, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a founding member of G4Girls Ghana.
